Professional Development is at the core of CAC’s work and we have developed several workshops to teach artists about goal setting and creating a business plan, budgets and financial management, strengthening grant or project applications and ways of identifying career opportunities.

Join CAC and threewalls for a series of workshops that focus on the professional and business side of artists’ creative practice.

Legal Rights & Protections: Saturday May 8th (11am - 1pm) Led by CAC Executive Director Carolina O. Jayaram, Esq and Vivek Jayaram, Esq, this workshop will teach artists about how to register and enforce copyrights, trademarks and licensing; create and negotiate contracts, and other legal issues facing artists and organizations.

Proposal Writing: Saturday May 15th (11am - 1pm) This workshop will be taught by artist Lynn Basa and Carolina O. Jayaram, Esq and will cover important elements of grant, fellowship, commission and residency applications. Participants will be required to fill out a sample application beforehand which will be critiqued during the workshop. A "winning" application will receive a one year Artist Membership to CAC.
